WCT RECOGNITION FOR INTERNATIONAL POLO CLUBS
The WCT Format includes Qualifier tournaments played across the country and abroad throughout the year culminating in the WCT FINALS annually. Currently, the WCT profiles the top women players in the world and has gained a fan base of its own in over 110 countries worldwide who follow the players progress and achievements. The WCT welcomes the addition of international ladies polo competitions. Below is the process to gain WCT Recognition.
INTERNATIONAL POLO CLUBS
International WCT Qualifier Tournament Conditions :
1. Tournament must be sanctioned or Officially recognized by the host country’s governing
body of polo.
2. Tournament and/or brackets of a ladies tournament must meet the handicap criteria of, a
minimum team handicap of 0 goals for each team entered.
3. Tournament must have a minimum of 4 chukkers in a match.
*International WCT Qualifiers must re-apply each year for approval to the schedule. RULES OF CONDUCT FOR POLO CLUBS HOSTING AN INTERNATIONAL WCT QUALIFIER
1. All criteria and procedures must be met to be added to the WCT Schedule as an Official WCT Qualifier and posted on the website wctpolo.com.
2. It is the responsibility of each polo club requesting WCT Qualifier recognition, to forward a copy of Sanctioned Tournament Approval or Official recognition correspondence from the governing body of polo within the country applying to info@wctpolo.com . Tournaments and/or brackets of tournaments must meet WCT handicap criteria for the tournament or bracket of the tournament to be eligible.
3. If, during the actual process of playing a tournament, one or all of the teams do not meet the
handicap criteria in the tournament conditions above, that tournament will lose its WCT Qualifier
status for the tournament that year, as a whole or bracket/flight in which the handicap
requirements were not met.
4. Clubs recognized as hosting an Official International WCT Qualifier will be responsible before and after their tournament to forward by email to the WCT at info@wctpolo.com ; itineraries, promo
material, tournament results and pictures, for inclusion in the promotion of their event.
5. Polo clubs recognized as hosting an Official International WCT Qualifier, understand that if the WCT does not receive any materials including promo information, results and photos and that they will not
have the opportunity to promote their event to its fullest potential through the channels that
the WCT offers.
6. The processing fee paid to WCT, is for application purposes and is non-refundable once received.
7. If in the event a tournament loses its WCT Qualifier status for any reason, including not meeting the handicap criteria, the application processing fee is non-refundable and will not be
returned.
8. All WCT logos are for use by WCT Polo Inc. only. Any use of WCT logos or images requires
written permission from the WCT for use or reproduction in any form. No use or sale of
products containing any WCT logos is permitted without the written permission of WCT.
*Qualifiers will only be added to the WCT Schedule after the application process is completed.
To apply for recognition as an International WCT Qualifier:
If you have an existing women's tournament
that meets the International WCT Qualifier Tournament Conditions above:
1. Forward a copy of tournament Approval / Sanctioning status (or Official recognition correspondence) from governing body of polo within the country of application, by email to info@wctpolo.com with correct WCT Handicap criteria requirement listed.
2. Have the tournament organizer/representative applying for the tournament’s inclusion respond or send by email a WCT Format agreement. To be sent, by email to info@wctpolo.com, (simply stating: "Format agreement/understanding: I have read the WCT Format and we understand/agree to follow the WCT Format, including handicap criteria").
3. Payment by check, cash or credit card for the processing fee of $100 to payable the WCT Polo for final approval and addition to the WCT Schedule.

If you would like to establish a new women’s tournament
recognized by the WCT as an International Qualifier:

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN PLAYERS
To play in a WCT Qualifier within the United States:
1. Please see the WCT Tournament Schedule to select the tournament of your choice.
Contact the tournament organizer for details on entry fee, team placement, horse rental
and tournament details.
2. Obtain a current USPA handicap by joining the USPA.
To play in the WCT Finals and/or WCT Entry Level Tournament:
* A player must meet one of the following criteria:
1. A player must have played in a WCT Qualifier anywhere in the world, regardless of
win/ loss status after the event and have a current USPA handicap.
2. You have a current USPA handicap of 2 goals or above.
