Narragansett Pier, R.I, August 3. - Outdoor sports rule the Summer hours at Narragansett, and during the past week, yachting, motoring, the National Polo tournament, and the tennis matches at the Point Judith country Club have afforded a variety of pastimes for the summer colony.
The annual polo tournament continues to be an all absorbing diversion, and the initial matches for the Senior Championship trophies attracted a large attendance here early in the week when the rival fours were the Cooperstown team and the famous Meadow Brooks of Long Island. Foxhall Keene, of the Meadow Brook team, made his debut here on Monday, when he substituted for W. Goadby Loew in the opening fray for the championship cups.
The women followers of sport on the polo field who made up the Meadow Larks team at last have a rival, and these young women must now look to their laurels.
On Tuesday, the Black Birds, a new polo team here, under the leadership of the Misses Jeanette and Dasha Allen, daughters of Major Henry T. Allen of Washington, defeated the Meadow Larks in a spirited match at the Point Judith Polo Club.
The Misses Allen, who are newcomers here, play polo with considerable dash and in their initial match at Narragansett defeated the Long Island "Larks" by a socre of 5 to 1. Miss Jeanette Allen was the heroine of the game. She gave a fine exhibition of fast riding, and scored four goals for the Black Bird team.
There are several other events scheduled in the Ladies Polo Tourney here. Among other young women who play polo at the Pier are Miss Emily Randolph, Miss Hannah Randolph, Miss Helen Hitchcock of Newport, and Miss Kate Penn-Smith of Philadelphia.
The Tennis Tournament at the Point Judith Country Club has attracted many of the cottagers to the matches there during the past week, and following the events on the programme, tea has been served at the round tables on the lawn in front of the clubhouse.

Hinman Bird, John McKim Minton, Miss Margaret Harris, Sidney Beals, Barclay McFadden and Dr. Archibald G. Thompson of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Barger Wallach of Newport.
A golf tournament is planned for later in the season and will be held on the links of the Point Judith Country Club.
The annual fair of St. Peter's Episcopal Church will take place on the church lawn on Tuesday, Aug 6. and many of the cottagers will participate in the event, which is always one of the notable outdoor fetes of the Summer at Narragansett. many of the matrons and maids of the Pier will preside at the booths and tables laden with fancy wares on the lawn of St. Peter's-by-the-Sea.
A picnic at Salt Pond was one of the novel entertainments of the week. Mrs Thomas Jenkins of Baltimore was the hostess, and about thirty of the cottagers were invited to the outing on an island in the Salt Lake, which extends from Wakefield, several miles from the Pier almost to the sea. Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Kennedy of Philadelphia aslo entertained a party of cottagers recently at Belle Court Inn, Wichford, where a supper was followed by dancing....
